For the last
several years, we have had many individuals and groups help to make Melinda
Heights a beautiful place.
We have
developed an Adopt-A-Planter Program in order to improve the look of each
planter around the school and the overall appearance of our school grounds. We
are now looking for sponsors to "Adopt-A-Planter." Planters are
available for cub scouts, brownies, families, classrooms, and other members of
our community to adopt.
The
Adopt-A-Planter sponsors’ responsibilities include the following:
Commit to the care and maintenance of the
planter for one year
Provide plants, materials, etc. through
purchase or solicited donations
Plant aesthetically pleasing flowers,
plants, bushes, and shrubs when necessary (please no poisonous plants,
fruit tees, vegetable plants, etc.)
Maintain the planter by fertilizing,
trimming, pruning, weeding, and watering when necessary
It is our
intention through donations to provide each planter with a placard that
identifies the planter’s sponsor, and provide garden fencing around most of the
planters to help remind students to stay out.
If you or
your organization would be interested in sponsoring a planter or donating money
or supplies to support the Adopt-A-Planter program at Melinda Heights
Elementary School, please contact me by phone at (949) 888-7311 or e-mail me at
